Description

Responsibilities:

 

  • Design materials, structures, and systems while considering the limitations imposed by practicality, regulation, safety, and cost.
  • Conduct feasibly studies, resource requirements both people and materials and setting standards for both operating and development activities.

 

Duties:

 

  • Operates as a fully functional electrical engineer.
  •  Is required to provide technical guidance to technicians and support to other professionals.
  • Technical execution and supervision of system improvement projects;
  • Project scoping and schedule development;
  • Electrical equipment specification;
  • Preparation of commissioning documentation and procedures;
  • QA/QC of design drawings and documentation;
  • Oversight of engineering contractors;
  • Commissioning of electrical equipment and systems in the field;
  • Provide engineering operations support to transportation and energy asset stakeholders across North America, which includes field operations and commercial stakeholders;
  • Development of risk based operational integrity plans;
  • Development of operating procedures that details system maintenance, considering regulatory, safety, commercial, maintenance cost, and equipment performance drivers;
  • Development (cost, scoping, execution planning) of system improvement projects, including completing financial cost/benefit analysis and stakeholder buy in.

Specific Experience, Qualifications, and Education Desired

 

The successful candidate must have approximately 5-10 years of engineering experience in the design and installation/commissioning of gas pipeline facilities and be familiar with the impact of design on operation and maintenance considerations. The successful candidate must have knowledge of applicable Codes and Acts, best practices for design, construction, and commissioning of gas pipeline facilities

 

Specific Experience, Qualifications, and Education Desired

 

  • Design experience with gas measurement facilities electrical and control systems including low voltage distribution, control panel design, instrumentation, analytical gas sample systems, communications, remote power, offsite fabrication, onsite commissioning.
  • General experience with input/output wiring and RTU, PLC and Flow computer integration
  • The successful candidate must have knowledge of applicable Codes and Acts, best practices for design, construction, and commissioning
  • Experience with Measurement Canada Custody Transfer Gas Measurement.
  • General experience with input/output wiring and RTU, PLC and Flow computer integration
  • Design oversight experience acting as owners engineer for third party design work
