We are seeking an Executive Director to lead as we build on our strengths and plan for the future. As the leader of a small team, you are a results-driven, people-focused professional and you will lead a variety of complex tasks related to management of vocational training programs, craft therapy and social programs and thriving accessory and craft production.

The Executive Director ensures effective processes and structures that result in key deliverables for business planning, identifying and growing income and funding streams, financial management, communications, and community outreach. Key Responsibilities

Governance

Collaboratively works with the board to ensure that the organizations mission is fulfilled through programs, strategic planning and community outreach
Ensures compliance with all government legislation, regulations, and guidelines pertinent to the organization�s role as an employer, charity and non-profit agency


Financial Accountability

Develops resources sufficient to ensure the financial health of the organization
Responsible for fiscal management that generally anticipates operating within the approved budget, ensures maximum resource utilization, and maintenance of the organization in a positive financial position
Responsible for fundraising plans and developing other resources necessary to support Craftworks� mission
Identifies, recommends, and executes on opportunities to build and grow new revenue streams including grants, sales, and individual donor opportunities
People Leadership

Recruits, leads, develops, recognizes and retains Craftworks� staff
Actively engages and energizes Craftworks volunteers, event committees, and alumni, partnering organizations, and donors
Supports and encourages initiative
Program and Operations Management

Oversees and implements budgets and resources to ensure that the operations of the organization are appropriate
Ensures ongoing program excellence, rigorous program evaluation, and consistent quality of administration, fundraising, communications, and systems
Advocacy, Fundraising & Communications:

Actively engages and energizes Craftworks� partnering organizations, and donors
Expands local revenue generating and fundraising activities to support existing program operations and expansion
Oversees all aspects of communications�from web presence to external relations with the goal of creating stronger awareness and community support
Advocates for and communicates Craftworks mission, vision and organizational success

Planning & New Business:

Designs expansion plans and completes the business planning process for existing operations, new programs or expansion
Builds partnerships and establishes relationships with donors and political and community leaders

Qualifications

Position Requirements

A Bachelor�s degree in a related discipline, with 5 - 7 years of senior management experience; track record of effectively leading and scaling an outcomes-based organization and staff; (or an appropriate combination of education and experience)
A minimum of 5 years experience with social enterprises and/or non-profit/charitable organizations
Unwavering commitment to quality programs and data-driven program evaluation
Excellence in organizational management with the ability to coach staff, manage, and develop high-performance teams, set and achieve strategic objectives, and manage a budget
Action-oriented, adaptable, and innovative approach to business planning
Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people (staff, volunteers, board members, donors, politicians, community groups)
Grant writing and fund development experience
Experience working with adults with disabilities, with other vulnerable populations or in the mental health field is an asset
Experience working in the fashion or textile industry, volunteering or with hobbies in fashion and crafting an asset
